Here's to the Crazy Ones. The Misfits. The Rebels....

My name is Debbie. I founded this company with the idea of my tribe in mind. Our motto is "do no harm, but take no shit."

We are a little bit of country and a whole lotta rock n roll. We give a little hell and a whole lot of honey and not necessarily in that order. We have a heart like a wildflower. We are the babes and the badasses.

We are fire. wild. sunshine.

BORN IN NYC x MADE IN JC

Guts, Grit and Lipstick is a good way to start. Growing up in New York City, I was surrounded by inspiration and at a very early age I knew creating was in these bones. After receiving my degree in Jewelry Design from the renowned Fashion Institute of Technology while also moonlighting as a professional Belly dancer, I somehow landed in sales for “corporate america” in the very competitive fashion industry. After 10 very stress filled years I decided enough was enough….I took a leap of faith to 'pursue my happiness' and here I am.

Today I share a beautiful home with my husband and fur baby. I have a  work studio/showroom where I lose my 'self' in wild abandon. I'm a tattoo & brow artist, painter, jewelry designer and the founder of Artist & Maker Market, an open-air bazaar featuring locally created fine art and premium hand-crafted goods- connecting artists and artisans with the metro NYC community.

The jewelry technique I most enjoy using is the lost wax casting technique. I start by hand carving a block of wax into a wax piece of art. This is a dying art form (due to technological advancements with C.A.D) which has been around for thousands of years, it affords my finished jewelry pieces a one-of-a-kind, raw and artisan look. The final product being a true one of a kind hand crafted original design which is a stark contrast to the mass produced jewelry which is so prominent nowadays. I make jewelry inspired by classic motifs with an edgy twist. All jewelry is made with the best quality, each stone and bead ethically sourced.

I’ve had the unique privilege of studying color theory, the use of technical tools for precision work, traditional & classical styles under my good friend and mentor- the widely known and reputable artist Peter S. Bill.

Vera Vixeness is a Jersey City based company specializing in non binary aesthetics, handmade jewelry, hand painted textiles, vintage clothing and access. My jewelry, art and painted textiles can be found on Etsy, local boutiques and galleries.
